This puja is performed with the heartfelt intention of helping childless couples be blessed with a healthy, intelligent, and virtuous child. In Hindu tradition, the birth of a child is seen as both a continuation of the family lineage and a spiritual gift. Invoking Lord Pashupatinath, along with the combined energy of Shiv and Shakti, removes unseen barriers and aligns the couple’s destiny with divine grace for parenthood.
Many couples face unexplained delays in conceiving a child due to spiritual, karmic, or astrological factors. These obstacles may stem from past-life karmas, ancestral curses (Pitru Dosha), or planetary imbalances. The chanting of the 1,25,000 Maha Mrityunjaya Mantras by 11 learned priests generates a high-frequency vibration that purifies these blocks, paving the way for conception.
Even after conception, certain pregnancies face health challenges or emotional stress. This puja seeks divine protection from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati to ensure the physical safety and emotional well-being of both mother and child. It invokes Ayushya (longevity) and Arogya (health) blessings so that the pregnancy is smooth, delivery is safe, and the child is born with divine blessings.
Planetary afflictions like Putra Dosha, Mangal Dosha, or malefic positioning of Rahu-Ketu in the birth chart can create severe challenges in childbearing. This puja includes specific Vedic remedies and mantras that pacify these malefic influences, turning them into favorable energies. By balancing planetary vibrations, it creates a harmonious environment for the arrival of a child.
The birth of a child brings emotional completeness and joy to a family. This puja not only supports conception but also strengthens the love, unity, and understanding between the couple. It removes tensions, enhances emotional bonding, and invites prosperity and peace into the home, ensuring the child grows up in a loving and nurturing environment.
Pashupatinath’s Rajpurohit Pandits perform this sacred puja with strict adherence to Vedic scriptures and rituals. They chant powerful mantras, conduct precise ceremonies, and include every devotee’s name and gotra in the sankalp (vow) to ensure personalized divine blessings.

Pashupatinath is considered one of the holiest temples for Hindus, especially among followers of Shaivism.
It is one of the four most important pilgrimage sites for Shiva devotees, along with Kedarnath, Somnath, and Kashi Vishwanath.
Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main temple, but the surrounding complex and ghats are open to all.
The temple is a major site for cremation rituals along the Bagmati River. The Arya Ghat is where most Hindu cremations in Kathmandu take place.
Hosts significant events during Maha Shivaratri, drawing tens of thousands of pilgrims from Nepal, India, and other countries.
The exact origin is unclear, but it’s believed the temple has been in existence since at least the 5th century, with evidence of earlier Shiva worship on the site.
The current structure was rebuilt in the 17th century by King Bhupatindra Malla after earlier versions were destroyed by termites or time.
