Baglamukhi Jayanti is celebrated on Vaishakh Shukla Ashtami, marking the auspicious day of the manifestation of Goddess Baglamukhi the eighth among the ten Mahavidyas. Consequently, worship performed for the Mother Goddess on this propitious day is considered immensely potent. Lord Vishnu has always stood as the protector of the Devas in times of crisis. In one such instance during the Satya Yuga, a demon named Madan unleashed havoc across the three realms. Distressed by this turmoil, all the deities sought the assistance of Lord Vishnu; in response, Lord Vishnu himself commenced a rigorous penance on the banks of Haridra Sarovar. Pleased by Lord Vishnu’s asceticism, Goddess Baglamukhi emerged from that very lake of yellow waters and vanquished the demon. For this reason, Goddess Baglamukhi is revered as the deity of justice, victory, and the destruction of enemies.
