About puja

In Sanatan Dharma, Shri Kedarnath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is considered one of the most awakened and powerful places of Lord Shiva. With the blessings of Swayambhu Kedareswar, seated in the divine lap of the Himalayas, even the most difficult sufferings of life are removed, and the impossible becomes possible. However, the year 2026 is extremely rare because the Mahakumbh is being organized at Kailash Mansarovar this year, which is also called the “Agni Ashwa Year” or “Horse Year” in scriptures. This has not occurred in the last 12 years, and for some, it is happening for the first time in 60 years. It is believed that one parikrama done in this year gives the same spiritual merit as 108 parikramas.

About temple

In India, the land of Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi (land of the gods), where many sacred pilgrimage sites are located. One of the most important among them is Kedarnath Dham, which holds great significance in Hinduism. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and is also part of the Panch Kedar. A special feature of this temple is that it remains open for 6 months and closed for 6 months every year. Kedarnath Dham is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, surrounded by the high mountain ranges of the Himalayas. According to mythology, after the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas went to worship Lord Shiva to seek freedom from their sins. Lord Shiva, being displeased, did not appear before them and took the form of a bull to hide. The Pandavas recognized him, and Bhima followed him. Finally, Lord Shiva forgave them and appeared in different forms at different places. The part of Shiva that appeared in Kedarnath is now worshipped as the famous Kedarnath Temple. It is mentioned in scriptures that the temple was first built by the Pandavas, but it disappeared over time. Later, Adi Guru Shankaracharya rebuilt the temple. It is believed that visiting and worshipping at Kedarnath brings freedom from all sufferings and opens the path to liberation (moksha).
