When Is Sawan Observed in South India?
The dates of Sawan vary across India according to different Panchang traditions. The Purnimanta calendar is followed in many parts of North India, while the Amanta calendar is traditionally observed in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and several other regions of South India.
According to the South Indian Panchang, Sawan in 2026 will begin on 24 August and continue until 11 September 2026.
