Every Tithi of Pitru Paksha is considered significant for remembering departed ancestors and performing Shraddh and Tarpan in their honour. According to tradition, Dwitiya Shraddh holds special significance for ancestors who passed away on Dwitiya Tithi.
On this sacred day, ancestors are remembered with devotion, and Puja, Tarpan and Daan are performed in their honour with prayers for their satisfaction, spiritual peace and Sadgati.

Muktinath Temple, located in the Himalayan region of Nepal, is a highly revered sacred Teerth associated in Hindu tradition with Lord Vishnu in his Mukti Narayan form. The name “Muktinath” itself signifies the Lord of Liberation, which is why this sacred Dham is closely associated with prayers for Moksha and spiritual liberation. Muktinath is counted among the important Teerths of the Vaishnava tradition. Along with the worship of Lord Vishnu, bathing under its sacred water streams is also considered to hold special religious significance.
Muktinath is also regarded as spiritually significant for ancestral rituals. According to religious belief, Shraddh, Tarpan and Pind Daan performed for one’s ancestors in this sacred Moksha Bhoomi are associated with prayers for their satisfaction, peace and Sadgati.
