Worshipping Lord Vishnu on Nirjala Ekadashi is believed to bestow the same spiritual merit as observing all 24 Ekadashis of the year. This makes the ritual especially beneficial for devotees who are unable to observe every Ekadashi.
According to sacred scriptures, listening to and reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama purifies the mind, speech, and actions of the devotee. It helps reduce the effects of negative karmas and supports spiritual growth.
Through the Shri Vishnu Sahasranama Path and Tulsi Dal Archana, devotees seek the special blessings of Lord Vishnu. His grace is believed to bring protection, stability, and auspiciousness into life.
Tulsi is deeply cherished by Lord Vishnu. Offering 1,008 Tulsi leaves with devotion is believed to help fulfill righteous desires, attract prosperity, and enhance family well-being.
Special prayers are offered for the health, protection, happiness, and welfare of the devotee’s family. Lord Vishnu’s blessings are believed to bring positivity, contentment, harmony, and spiritual balance into life.
In Sanatan Dharma, Ekadashi is regarded as one of the most sacred and spiritually rewarding days dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. Among all Ekadashis observed throughout the year, Nirjala Ekadashi holds a unique and supreme significance. It is believed that worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion and sincerity on this auspicious day grants devotees the spiritual merit equivalent to observing all 24 Ekadashis of the year.
According to the Puranas, Bhima, one of the mighty Pandavas, was unable to observe all Ekadashi fasts due to his immense appetite. Concerned that he would miss the blessings and merits associated with these sacred observances, he sought guidance from Lord Vishnu. The Lord explained the greatness of Nirjala Ekadashi and declared that a devotee who worships Him with faith, discipline, and devotion on this single day receives the merit of all 24 Ekadashis. Since then, Nirjala Ekadashi has been revered as a highly auspicious day for attaining spiritual merit, liberation, and the grace of Lord Vishnu.
On this sacred occasion, a special ceremony featuring 11 Shri Vishnu Sahasranama Path And 1008 Tulsi Dal Archana will be conducted at Shri Brihaspati Temple in Kashi. During this divine ritual, the thousand sacred names of Lord Vishnu will be recited eleven times, and 1,008 holy Tulsi leaves will be offered in devotion. Scriptures describe Tulsi as the most beloved offering to Lord Vishnu, making this ritual especially powerful for earning divine blessings and fulfilling heartfelt wishes.
This special observance is particularly meaningful for devotees who are unable to visit various Vishnu pilgrimage sites, those restricted by age or health concerns, or devotees living abroad who cannot regularly observe every Ekadashi. It is believed that participating in this sacred sankalpa enables devotees to receive the blessings and spiritual merit associated with all 24 Ekadashis. Prayers will be offered to Lord Vishnu for happiness, prosperity, spiritual growth, protection, and contentment for the devotee and their family.
Kashi is considered one of the oldest and most sacred spiritual cities in India and is revered as the city that grants liberation. Located in this holy city, Shri Brihaspati Temple is an important center of faith and devotion for countless devotees. Dedicated to Devguru Brihaspati, the temple is also known for its rich Vedic traditions, sacred rituals, and spiritual significance.
Religious ceremonies performed in Kashi are believed to carry extraordinary spiritual potency. It is said that prayers, recitations, and worship offered here with devotion yield manifold blessings. On sacred occasions such as Ekadashi, rituals dedicated to Lord Vishnu, including Vishnu Sahasranama Path and Tulsi Dal Archana, are considered especially beneficial for spiritual upliftment.
The significance of these rituals becomes even greater during Nirjala Ekadashi. Devotees believe that remembering the divine names of Lord Vishnu and offering Tulsi leaves at this sacred temple bestows immense spiritual merit, mental peace, and inner fulfillment.
