The Amavasya concluding Pitru Paksha is known as Sarva Pitru Amavasya or Mahalaya Amavasya. It is considered the final and one of the most significant days of Pitru Paksha. This sacred day is especially dedicated to remembering and performing Shraddha and Tarpan for all known and unknown ancestors, including those whose death tithi is unknown or whose Shraddha could not be performed on the designated day.
