This puja symbolizes strengthening the bond between husband and wife or partners and encourages the feeling of staying connected with each other. In today’s busy life, distance, misunderstandings, and stress in relationships are common. Sometimes, even when love exists, emotional issues remain unresolved. Triyuginarayan Temple is a historic and sacred temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in Triyuginarayan village of Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. According to mythology, Triyuginarayan was considered the capital of King Himavat, and it is here that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married. It is believed that their wedding took place in a large sacred fire altar (Havan Kund), where fire was lit in all four directions. Brahma, Vishnu, and many other gods and sages are said to have attended this divine wedding ceremony. Even today, devotees take the sacred ash from this Havan Kund to their homes as a blessing for a happy married life. The name Triyuginarayan comes from the belief that signs of three Yugas (ages) are present here, symbolizing the divine connection of Vishnu, Shiva, and Parvati.
The temple complex has four important holy ponds: Rudrakund, Vishnu Kund, Brahmakund, and Saraswati Kund. The water of these ponds is considered very sacred. It is believed that the gods bathed here during the wedding ceremony. Especially, the water of Saraswati Kund is believed to originate from Lord Vishnu’s navel, which increases its spiritual importance. Therefore, Chadhava offered here for relief from sins, marital happiness, harmony, and prosperity is considered highly fruitful.
