Rajdwar Mandir, located in the Ramkot area of Ayodhya, is an ancient and very sacred temple which is believed to be the main gate of Lord Shri Ram’s royal palace. It is believed that this is the place from where Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman left for their exile and through this same path they entered Ayodhya after the victory over Lanka. Because of this, the place is called “Rajdwar,” meaning the main entrance gate of Shri Ram’s royal palace. About 900 years ago, the King of Ayodhya, Raja Mansingh, reconstructed this temple. Since then, it has remained an important center of faith for the devotees of Lord Ram.
