Maa Baglamukhi Temple at Nalkheda, near Ujjain, is regarded as a renowned and Siddha Tantric Shaktipeeth situated on the banks of the Lakhundar River. The temple is dedicated to the three-faced Trishakti form of Maa Baglamukhi. According to traditional belief, this ancient temple dates back to the Dwapara Yuga and is considered highly sacred. Along with Maa Baglamukhi, idols of Maa Lakshmi, Shri Krishna, Hanuman, Bhairav and Saraswati are also installed here.
According to local religious tradition, Yudhishthira established the temple on the advice of Lord Krishna with the intention of attaining victory in the Mahabharata. It is also traditionally believed that the idol of Maa Baglamukhi here is Swayambhu.
