In Sanatan tradition, a special spiritual period begins with Shukla Paksha Purnima, followed by the 15-day Pitru Paksha dedicated to remembering ancestors through Tarpan, Shraddha, and Pitru Shanti rituals. Kashi, revered as the City of Liberation (Moksha), is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations for Pitru Shanti and the attainment of liberation.
