Each Tithi of Pitru Paksha is considered significant for performing Shraddh and Pitru Karma for departed ancestors. Ekadashi Shraddh is primarily performed for ancestors who passed away on Ekadashi Tithi of any lunar month. On this day, departed ancestors are remembered with devotion and Pitru rituals are performed in their honour. Prayers are offered for the satisfaction, peace and salvation of their souls, as well as for their continued blessings upon the family.

Located on the sacred banks of the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand, Shri Badrinath Dham is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is often referred to as Vaikuntha on Earth. It holds immense importance as part of both the Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage traditions.
According to religious belief, Darshan and worship of Lord Badrivishal are associated with purification from sins, spiritual elevation and prayers for Moksha. Badrinath Dham is also counted among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Sacred sites such as Tapt Kund, Brahma Kapal and the Nar-Narayan mountains further add to the spiritual significance of this holy region.
